In the end, I think my WP2 turned out pretty well. I was happy with the way I revised my thesis and incorporated quotes to relate back to it. I was not happy with the fact that I couldn’t answer a lot of the questions to the prompt because I literally ran out of space. Also, I was both happy and not happy about how much time I put into this paper (a lot).
The comment that helped me the most was when somebody said my last sentence could actually be my thesis, because in the end, it ended up being really similar. Also, I found the pointers on how to shorten my paper (not including the article titles every 5 seconds) very useful.
I have to agree with you, that answering everything in only 6 pages was suppppppeeeeerrrr hard and trying to decide which arguments where more important was even harder. The bulk of my weekend was spent listening to Snoop Dogg, and writing this paper, so I feel you on the time thing.
ReplyDeleteThat comment you received must've been amazing, because the thesis is one of the hardest things to come up with while writing, so I have to agree that that may have been the greatest comment ever.
Incorporating quotes is one of the most important parts! I'm glad you were able to relate them all back to your thesis, I think that's one of the hardest things to do when writing. On my last WP, I received the same comment about my last sentence being my thesis. One thing that might help is if you write your introduction last instead of first, so you can see where your essay goes and then build your intro and revise your thesis around it!
ReplyDeleteThis WP I think was our hardest one which is weird since Zack said it was supposed to be easier. But yeah, I have a really tough time incorporating pretty much any quotes into my writing, which is really a pain sometimes.
ReplyDeleteWhen you say you were both happy and unhappy about how much time you put into the paper I totally understand what you mean, this was a rather long essay to write about. For me it even took me a long time to grasp my head around the topic.
